Means of Escape calculations are used in fire engineered designs to analyse the storey exit/stair widths provided.

M10 Fire Consultancy can perform these calculations for a wide variety of scenarios.

Means of Escape Calculations

It is sometimes necessary to provide Means of Escape calculations in a fire engineered building. The types of calculations that can be performed include the following:

  • Calculation of the minimum stair and storey exit widths
  • Calculation of the maximum occupancy of a building based on the existing means of escape
  • Evacuation Time Calculations
  • 3D modelling of the evacuation from complex building designs

M10 can provide the above calculations for a wide variety of scenarios and these can be used as justification of the fire engineered design to Building Control and the Fire Authority.
