There is standard guidance on the amount of fire protetion that should be applied to the structural elements supporting a building.
However, as part of a fire engineered design, Structural Fire Protection (SFP) Analyses can be used to, for example:
- Determine if the standard amount of fire protection can be reduced (e.g. from 90 minutes to 60 minutes)
- To calculate the inherent fire resistance of existing or complex structural elements
M10 can perform SFP Analyses for a wide variety of scenarios and these can be used as justification of the fire engineered design to Building Control and the Fire Authority.
