Structural Fire Protection (SFP) Analyses can be used to determine the amount of fire protection required to a structural element, based on the use of your building.

M10 Fire Consultancy can provide SFP Analyses for a wide variety of scenarios.

Example of heat transfer

Structural steel work and crane

Structural Fire Protection Analyses

There is standard guidance on the amount of fire protetion that should be applied to the structural elements supporting a building.

However, as part of a fire engineered design, Structural Fire Protection (SFP) Analyses can be used to, for example:

  • Determine if the standard amount of fire protection can be reduced (e.g. from 90 minutes to 60 minutes)
  • To calculate the inherent fire resistance of existing or complex structural elements

M10 can perform SFP Analyses for a wide variety of scenarios and these can be used as justification of the fire engineered design to Building Control and the Fire Authority.
